Foundations of Databases: The Logical Level

The aliased named 'Alice Book' is still the gold standard in database design. However it is not an easy read; some database background is required to understand content and is useful mostly only as a reference. It would help if a more updated version of this text was available; however as is it is still very relevant (especially in consideration of the fact that nothing much has changed in database technology in the past 30 years or so...)
